Check Out Our Epic Line Up For Heaps Gay Pardi Gras 2017

By Mikey Carr

Strap yourselves in and get ready to blast off into the party stratosphere when Heaps Gay returns to the Factory Theatre on Saturday 4th of March for our epic once a year post Mardi Gras bash – Heaps Gay Pardi Gras.

Bringing together a kaleidoscopic spectrum of Australian’s best queer musicians, artists and performers, punters will get to trip the light fantastic through three areas filled with dozens of wonderfully weird and amazing acts singing, dancing and more for your entertainment.

Headlining proceedings is Melbourne’s outrageous drag collective Yummy. Blowing our socks (and more) off when they co-curated our Melbourne Music Week party, they are making the trek up from Victoria to delight us with their wild and wonderful antics. They’re not the only ones traveling cross country to be in attendance though, with fellow Melburnian rap troupe Bahdoesa also making the schlep up to visit us after also wowing us at MMW.

In terms of live music “beautiful noise maker” Zuri Akoko will be bringing her sensual electronica to the party alongside 90s influenced internet wunderkind Oh Boy and pot soaked pop star Dominic Talarico. Meanwhile when it comes to DJs, as always, we have brought the goods with a solid crew of the city’s best selectors including LOW TON DJs, Tanzer, Rimbombo and Heaps Gay favourites DEL, Sveta, Charlie Villas and a very special DJ set from Sydney’s Kween of K-Rap Kimchi Princi.

It’s not only your ears we will be delighting during this feast for the senses however, with a slew of local artists and performers adding some very welcome madness to proceedings. With everything from the return of The Clittorati by Deep Sea Astronauts to a Speakeasy Whiskey Bar and Fortune Teller on the cards, you might wanna bring a helmet (covered in glitter ideally) in case your mind gets blown.
